As another season of high school sports begins, three of the ministries within CHI Nebraska are teaming with the Nebraska Sports Concussion Network (NSCN) to offer an innovative concussion testing program. The NSCN was founded in 2010 by CHI Nebraska’s Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center and Nebraska Orthopedic & Sports Medicine of Lincoln. Saint Francis Medical Center, Grand Island, and Good Samaritan Hospital, Kearney, are now part of the network as well. The program provides baseline and post-injury testing to student athletes, and training for physicians to help them better recognize and evaluate concussions.
