Good Samaritan Hospital, Kearney, NE, received the Energy Star award for 2012 from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for superior energy performance. Buildings that earn the EPA’s Energy Star award use 35% less energy and generate 35% fewer greenhouse emissions than similar buildings across the nation. Good Samaritan has been successful in reducing the energy used to heat and cool the hospital. Good Samaritan Hospital is the first building in CHI to receive the Energy star certification this year.
