St. Joseph in Reading Accredited as a Chest Pain Center

St. Joseph Medical Center, Reading, PA, was given accreditation as a Certified Chest Pain Center by the Society of Chest Pain Centers. The accreditation means that St. Joseph practices and achieves the highest standards of chest pain intervention and treatment available in the U.S. The medical center’s multidisciplinary heart care teams are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Patients who are diagnosed with significant cardiac symptoms go from the emergency department to the catheterization lab for intervention in well under 60 minutes, faster than the national standard.
