National Clinical Service Lines

Catholic Health Initiatives is growing and diversifying through new service lines that extend outside our hospitals and other care facilities. These national service lines help meet community and individual needs for high-quality health services close to their homes. CHI’s national service lines include:

Home Care

Consolidated Health Services (CHS) is Catholic Health Initiatives’ national home health services provider, delivering care to patients who are rehabilitating or managing chronic conditions in the comfort of their homes. Developing and expanding home care programs that serve patients appropriately, efficiently and innovatively is a priority for CHS.

In addition to home care services, CHS provides patient transportation and home infusion therapy services.

Reference Laboratory Services

CHI is part owner of Pathology Associates Medical Laboratories (PAML), Spokane, WA, a full-service medical reference lab operated by Providence Health & Services. CHI and Providence, a nonprofit Catholic health system with hospitals in the western U.S., have complementary missions and shared faith-based values of compassion and excellence.

PAML currently serves more than 100 hospitals, performing unusual, complex and specialized tests that most hospitals cannot perform in their own labs. PAML performs more than eight million tests a year and has several joint venture partnerships for outreach laboratories.

Oncology Service Line

CHI is using its national reach to raise the bar for cancer care by delivering integrated cancer care and making sure each patient has access to optimal oncology services as close to home as possible.

CHI and its oncology centers, through the NCI’s Community Cancer Center Program, its Oncology Clinical Trials Network and Center for Translational Research, are already achieving national recognition for advancing the delivery of cancer care in the community setting.
